| What is your photography style? |
Learn More |
I enjoy capturing scenes of the story that tells itself during our session. I have been told I have a "cinematic eye." I mix formal portraiture with photojournalism with and without the formal front-on "camera aware" smile. Photojournalism is on-site photography where I capture people and scenes in what are called environmental portraits--you and yours as you interact together and with your surroundings. This style can also be called editorial or lifestyle photography. I also enjoy capturing the beauty in the details by fine art and abstract photography. I offer an assortment of images in black and white, color, and stylized color.

| Do you have referrals? |
Learn More |
Yes. My letters of recommendation and my resume are available upon request. Read the Testimonials page for praise from clients.
|
| Do you have a degree? |
Learn More |
Yes. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (Creative Writing) and Communications (Media Studies) from the University of Washington in Seattle. I also have an educational background in journalism.
This combined background in writing and media allows me an advantage in photography because I am passionate about communications as I enjoy being creative. I aspire to communicate well with my clients as I aim to provide creatively composed and quality images. |
| How did you learn photography? |
Learn More |
I enjoyed photography from an early age when I was given a pink 110 camera with the 4 series flash as a gift -- you know, the kind you wind up. From family occasions, through college, in my freetime and for fun, to present service opportunities for clients, my camera and I have been "attached at the hip." In this way, I learned photography through practice and experience.
I place a high value on community. I actively pursue networking with other photography professionals for the purpose of establishing community, assisting, info sharing, mentoring, learning, and simply waxing photography over a cup of brew at a local coffee shop, tea house, or cafe. I learn from many gracious professional photographers who critique my work and offer their advice and encouragement on a variety of photography topics. As a professional I enjoy influencing colleagues in my field.
Though I have since upgraded my equipment from that long ago pink wind-up-wonder, I enjoy photography because it is a way to capture beauty and to connect with others, and I consider it a privilege in stewdardship to earn an income doing something I enjoy.

| What are your prices? |
Learn More |
| How do you calculate your rates? |
Learn More |
I calculate my rates by the following:
- $125/hr for portrait and event coverage + $50/hr for post-production services + cost of included products + cost of doing business + revenue for growth
- $175/hr for wedding coverage + $75/hr for post-production services + $350 for engagement session + cost of included products + cost of doing business + revenue for growth
Please note that above rates do not include additional A La Carte or Wedding Package products.
I determine prices based on the time and equipment invested, the creative and skill requirements, the materials needed per service, the daily overhead costs of running a business, my previous experience, and industry comparables. I market to discerning clients who are willing to pay a bit more for personable service and expressive, creative, and quality images.
I want my clients to appreciate the time and creative effort I invest in their special project as I appreciate their business (and referrals!). In the information age we may want everything for free, but certainly love and memories showcased in art (and the people who create them - clients and professionals alike) have value! Contact me with any questions about pricing. |
| What is your payment process? |
Learn More |
After we book your photography session, I will email you three files: a Client Information form, our Photography Agreement, and a Billing Statement of balance due:
- Billing Statement: In the Billing Statement I will list the services ordered, the amount of the Booking Deposit, and the total that is due.
- Booking Deposit: The Booking Deposit for services is 50% of the total service price. The Booking Deposit secures the date of service, is non-refundable, and is due at the time of booking. The remainder of payment, less the deposit amount, is due by 10 business days before the date of service.
- Payment: I accept payment in cash or check. Checks made payable to "Dena Rosko."
- Receipt: I will email the updated Billing Statement as your receipt when the Billing Statement is paid.
I am glad to mail you a printed receipt and the three forms at your request should email be unavailable to you.

| How do I order a service from you? |
Learn More |
| When will I receive my order? |
Learn More |
You will receive your order as stated in your Photography Agreement, usually after the Billing Statement is paid in full. I will give you an estimate on the time required for me to complete your order.
When I finish your photographs I will email you a link to your Client Gallery, where you can preview and order prints and photo gifts. This is a fabulous fulfillment and delivery service that will process your payment and order, and print and deliver your order to your location. You can email your Client Gallery to family and friends, too, and share the love!
For small orders for digital image files only (up to 25MB), I can provide the files online for you to download for up to 5 business days.
At your request, I can personally deliver your order to your location and go over it with you. Please note that this service includes a one hour consultation charge of $175, which will be added to your Billing Statement. |
| What is a Photography Agreement? |
Learn More |
I will email you a Photography Agreement shortly after we booked your photography date, and you will be required to sign this agreement before our booking date takes place.
Generally, Photography Agreements are contracts between client and photographer that describes the terms for a given service. These agreements can cover the following areas: Reproduction and Commercial Requirements, Ownership Rights, Photo Credit, Altering, Liability and Indemnification, Billing Statement, and other clauses. Photography Agreements can also give the photographer permission to publish images in their portfolios or for marketing content.
Photography Agreements are valuable communications tools that define our working relationship, and I consider them an industry standard. Please fully read and understand the Photography Agreement before you sign. I am happy to answer any questions you may have about your Photography Agreement.

| Do you provide digital image files? |
Learn More |
Yes. I shoot in digital.
For Restoration Services, I scan your original print, restore it digitally, and mail you the digital image file(s) on a CD and the original print(s). |
| Do you operate out of a studio? |
Learn More |
No. Most of my photography and consultation work is done on-site since I serve clients at their location of choice or operation. I do post-production work at my home office.
Though studios provide the ease of pre-set lighting, selected poses, and backgrounds, I prefer working on-site because I photograph you and yours in a more natural environment than a studio may allow. |
| What region do you service? |
Learn More |
I am based in Renton, Washington, just a stone's throw from beautiful Seattle, and I service the Pacific Northwest region of the United States (namely Oregon and Washington states). Contact Me for your photography location. |

Me!
I am known for my personable approach to others, and I work to build a rapport with my clients by offering courteous and friendly service. I believe that my clients want an enjoyable experience working with me as much as they want quality photographs. I want my clients to have good memories of our session because I believe that positive working relationships create shared experiences that add to the finished product.
Life may be as a flourish, but it doesn't have to be lived in a hurry. Quality and caring service slows the flourish in life so that you can enjoy the moment. In a do-it-yourself culture, it can be nice to let someone care for you.
In addition to quality service, I work hard to provide you with unique and stellar images that are creatively composed to capture your special moment and those who are special to you. I am selective with the images I deliver to ensure that you receive the best from your session. I view photography as a social art form, and not as a buy-in-bulk sale, which discerning clients will appreciate, and I approach photography with an on-going effort to refine and improve my work. I want my clients to use and enjoy their images for years to come as intentional works of art with all the special memories attached.
